Who is Ramakrishna Ghosh, the CSK pacer who picked seven wickets for Maharashtra in Vijay Hazare Trophy?

Maharashtra pacer Ramakrishna Ghosh became only the 12th player to pick seven wickets or more in a Vijay Hazare Trophy game, during his side’s match against Himachal Pradesh on Monday in Jaipur.

Ghosh recorded figures of 7/42 from 9.4 overs as Maharashtra bowled out Himachal Pradesh for 271 in the first innings of the match.

The right-arm quick cleaned up the Himachal Pradesh top-order, claiming four wickets in the opening seven overs. Ghosh returned for a late spell to claim his maiden List A five-wicket haul and added two more scalps.

Ghosh had begun the VHT 2025-26 campaign by claiming three wickets each against Sikkim and Punjab.

The 28-year-old was picked by Chennai Super Kings in the 2025 IPL auction and was retained heading into the 2026 season.

Two bowlers have registered eight-wicket hauls in Vijay Hazare Trophy – Himachal Pradesh’s Arpit Guleria (8/50) vs Gujarat in 2023 and Jharkhand’s Shabhaz Nadeem (8/10) vs Rajasthan in 2018.
