RCB registers its third-highest successful chase during WPL 2026 opener against MI
Royal Challengers Bengaluru, thanks to South African all-rounder Nadine de Klerk’s pyrotechnics, beat Mumbai Indians by three wickets to kick off the 2026 edition of the Women’s Premier League with a thrilling contest on Friday at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
With this victory, RCB notched up its third-highest successful chase in WPL.
The Smriti Mandhana-led side restricted MI to 154/6 in 20 overs before de Klerk’s 44-ball 63 rescued RCB from the jaws of defeat and bag all the points on offer.
RCB’s highest successful chase in the tournament remains its opening day win last season which saw the 2024 champion chase down 202 against Gujarat Giants in Vadodara.
