WPL 2026: Why is Ellyse Perry not playing in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs UP Warriorz match?


Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be looking to make it two wins in two matches when it meets UP Warriorz at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Monday, January 12.

However, the 2024 champion will be without the services of star all-rounder Ellyse Perry, who has withdrawn drawn the tournament. The 35-year-old withdrew ahead of the tournament, citing “personal reasons” as the reason for her absence.

Indian bowling all-rounder Sayali Satghare was called up as her replacement.

Perry, who has featured for RCB in all three seasons of WPL till date, has scored 972 runs and taken 14 wickets in 25 appearances for the side. She was also the top run-scorer in the second edition of the tournament, which RCB won. She was retained by the franchise along with Smriti Mandhana, Richa Ghosh, and Shreyanka Patil ahead of the mega auction.
