Veteran actress Zeenat Aman struck a candid and humorous note on social media as she addressed her followers with a public apology — and a set of memes. On January 12, the actress took to Instagram to confess that she had unintentionally gone back on a promise she once made to her audience.

I inadvertently went and turned my Instagram grid into an advertising billboard after publicly promising that I wouldn’t do just that!” She reminded followers that the commitment dated back to a caption from March 2023, adding that inconsistent planning over the past few months had led to the lapse.

Reassuring her audience, she added, “But fret not; I’m making amends.” As a playful apology, the actress introduced what she called the ‘Meme-at Aman’ series, featuring a set of memes inspired by the WhatsApp forwards she received around the New Year. Zeenat described their aesthetic as “lurid, kitsch style that is apparently an Internet staple,” embracing the humour and exaggeration that came with it.

“In apology for not keeping my word, here’s a Meme-at Aman series for you,” she wrote, inviting followers to engage with the content. She also encouraged fans to share which meme resonated with them the most, asking which one made them think, “mood”.

Wishing her audience well, Zeenat concluded the post with, “May 2026 be a productive and meaningful year for each one of you!” She also teased an upcoming trip, adding, “P.s: I’m going on a ‘literary’ journey this week. Any guesses where I’m headed?”

Shortly after, the actress reshared her older post announcing the meme series in her Instagram Stories, drawing attention once again to the playful experiment that her followers have well received.

On the professional front, Zeenat Aman made her acting comeback and OTT debut in 2025 with Netflix’s The Royals. She is next set to appear in Bun Tikki, backed by Manish Malhotra’s production banner, where she will share the screen space with Abhay Deol.
