Virat Kohli scores 54th ODI hundred, 85th of his career across all formats
Kohli reached the mark in 91 deliveries, making up for missing out in the first ODI when he was dismissed on 93. He also has 30 tons in Tests and one more in T20Is, taking his tally of tons to 85 across the three formats.
However, his 108-ball 124 on Sunday went in vain as India fell short by 41 runs while chasing a mammoth 338 runs.
But the 37-year-old continued his rich vein of form in the 50-over format. This was his sixth score of 50 or more in his last seven ODIs.
He had struck two centuries and a fifty during the three-match series against South Africa in December last year. He followed it up with another century and fifty for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Before that, Kohli had struck an unbeaten 77 against Australia in Sydney.
