Border 2 has seen a good jump at the box office on Saturday. The film had collected Rs. 32.10 crores on Friday and now on Saturday it has not just breached the Rs. 40 crores mark but also collected a bit more to move all the way up to Rs. 40.59 crores. This is a solid jump and for a biggie like this, which has already opened on north of 30 crores, to now exceed Rs. 40 crores is a solid achievement.

On Friday one expected the film to open well within Rs. 35-40 crores and when that didn’t happen, all eyes were on how the trajectory would look like on Saturday. Of course, even Rs. 32.10 crores was a superb number given the fact how films have been opening in the last 17 months since the last Rs. 50 crores+ opener Stree 2 (August 2024). However, since Border 2 is follow up to a classic, expectations were much higher as well.

The good part is that word of mouth for the film is positive and that can well be seen in the way Saturday has behaved. While collections will jump today as well, they will be bigger than a regular Sunday since tomorrow is national holiday of Republic Day and that will ensure higher footfalls today and tomorrow. While Rs. 45-47 crores is there for the taking, Rs. 50 crores would be truly blockbuster numbers. So far, the film has collected 72.69 crores, which means the weekend of over Rs. 100 crores is down and dusted.
