Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to miss India AI Impact Summit

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has cancelled his visit to attend the India AI Impact Summit, the company said on Saturday.

The company will, however, send a delegation of senior officials led by its Executive Vice-President Jay Puri.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Jensen Huang is unable to travel to India at this time,” the company said in a statement. Nvidia is one of the key players that dominate the AI ecosystem due to its fast processing GPU servers.

India AI Impact Summit is scheduled to be held at Bharat Mandapam here from February 16-20.

“A senior NVIDIA delegation, led by Executive Vice President Jay Puri, will be on the ground to celebrate India’s exceptional AI researchers, startups, developers, and the partners building the nation’s AI infrastructure,” the statement said.

Building on the momentum of leading international forums such as the UK AI Safety Summit, the AI Seoul Summit, the France AI Action Summit, and the Global AI Summit on Africa, this high-level convening marks a critical inflection point. It will strengthen existing multilateral initiatives while advancing new priorities, deliverables, and cooperative frameworks—moving from high-level political statements to demonstrable impact and tangible progress in global AI cooperation.

The Summit charts a path towards a future where the transformative power of AI serves humanity, drives inclusive growth, fosters social development, and promotes people-centric innovations that protect our planet. It also seeks to amplify the voice of the Global South, ensuring that technological advancements and opportunities are shared broadly, not concentrated in a few regions.

According to a statement from the government, it is expected to witness participation from over 100 countries, including 15 to 20 heads of government, 50+ ministers from various countries, and 40+ CEOs of leading global and Indian companies. Around 500 prominent figures from the global AI ecosystem, including innovators, researchers and Chief Technology Officers, are also expected to attend.

The Summit will also feature a startup showcase of 500+ AI startups and host around 500 sessions alongside the main programme.
