Who will India face in T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8 stage? — Schedule, venues


India qualified for the T20 World Cup Super Eight stage smoothly after beating Pakistan in their Group ‘A’ encounter at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday.

The Super 8s will consist of eight teams divided into two groups of four teams each. With the third win on the trot, India confirmed its place in the Group 1 with one league match still to go.

The Group 1 will comprise of West Indies, South Africa, and Australia/ Zimbabwe.

While the West Indies and South Africa have already qualified for the next phase having won all three of their games so far, the fourth team is yet to be decided.

The groups were already decided according to the pre-seedings ahead of the tournament, which means irrespective of where the team finishes—first or second in the table—it will go in the already decided groups of Super 8s.

In case a pre-seeded doesn’t manage to finish in the top two, in this case Australia, the next best team will take its place in the group.

Both Australia and Zimbabwe are in the Group ‘B and in contention to qualify; even Ireland has an outside chance. While Australia has won and lost one match each, Zimbabwe has won both its games so far.

1) India vs South Africa, February 22 in Ahmedabad

2) India vs X2, February 26 in Chennai

3) India vs West Indies, March 1 in Kolkata
