Playing opportunities for Associate nations against Full Members are few and far between. Since the ODI World Cup in 2023, the Dutch have played just three matches against Full Members across formats outside ICC tournaments. It is unfair to expect the have-nots to level up at global events. Despite the challenges, the Associates have fought hard in this World Cup, with Nepal, Italy, the USA, and the Dutch giving the established teams a run for their money.
