Actor Priyanka Chopra recently reflected on her journey in the international entertainment industry, saying she does not feel she has fully “arrived” in Hollywood despite working there for nearly a decade.

Clarifying her position, she said, “After having worked for so many years… I think what I said was misinterpreted or misquoted by a lot of the press.”

She explained that her earlier comments were rooted in a much older conversation from the time she appeared on the cover of Time magazine’s list of influential figures. Recalling that moment, she said, “What I actually meant was: many years ago, I did an interview for Time magazine when I was on their cover for the 100 most influential people. I remember coming into that interview very emotional because something had happened, and when the interviewer asked me what I wanted 10 years from then, I said, ‘I want a legacy.’”

Chopra indicated that her understanding of legacy has evolved over time, particularly after starting a family. She suggested that professional milestones alone no longer define success for her, as personal priorities have shifted.

At the same time, she acknowledged the uneven nature of opportunities in the international market. While she did not frame her experience as negative, she admitted that her path has not always followed the traditional trajectory of mainstream Hollywood stars, noting that she may have had fewer opportunities compared to others in the industry.

The actor also described her ability to balance work with time away from the spotlight as a privilege, rather than a limitation. She emphasised that taking breaks for personal reasons has been a conscious choice rather than a setback.

Chopra’s comments offer a measured perspective on navigating two film industries simultaneously, highlighting both the opportunities and constraints that come with working across markets. While she continues to take on international projects, her remarks suggest that long-term impact and personal fulfilment now matter more to her than conventional industry markers of arrival.
