Dilshan Madushanka, who was named as a replacement for the injured Matheesha Pathirana for the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026, will be added to Sri Lanka’s squad after being granted approval by the event technical committee of the competition on Wednesday.
Pathirana was ruled out after sustaining a muscle strain in his left leg during the team’s previous match against Australia on 16 February.
The 25-year-old Madushanka has 15 T20I caps to his name and has 15 wickets to his name.
The left-arm pacer’s last T20I appearance, however, came in 2024 against India.
Sri Lanka will next take on Zimbabwe on Thursday before turning its attention to the Super Eights, where it will face England, New Zealand and Pakistan.
