India A beat Nepal by eight wickets in its last group match to go atop the standings, but had to wait for the result of the game between Pakistan A and UAE to assure qualification.
UAE, which had been the only unbeaten team in the group so far, suffered a nine-wicket loss against Pakistan A in the last Group A game. The Esha Oza-led side was bundled out for 79, and Pakistan A chased down the target with nine overs to spare.
The result, which boosted its Net Run-Rate (NRR) to 0.457, meant Pakistan A leapfrogged UAE to claim second place and the other semifinal spot.
India A has a superior NRR of 3.042, assuring the side the top-place finish. After losing its opener against the UAE, the team bounced back with consecutive victories against Pakistan A and Nepal.
The final Group B matches will take place on Wednesday, which will decide who India A and Pakistan A will face in the knockouts.
