WhatsApp may soon bring ‘After Reading’ feature, through which messages will be automatically deleted as soon as they are read. This feature will further improve the privacy and security of users.

WhatsApp’s new ‘After Reading’ feature, message will end as soon as it is read
WhatsApp is preparing to introduce a new feature to further strengthen the privacy of its users. According to reports, the company is working on a new ‘After Reading’ feature, in which messages will be automatically deleted as soon as they are read. As of now, the option of disappearing messages is available in WhatsApp, in which users can set a timer of 24 hours, 7 days or 90 days. But the new ‘After Reading’ feature is a step ahead. In this, after reading the message, it will automatically disappear from the chat of both the users within just 15 minutes.
If the message is not read, it will remain in the chat for about 24 hours and after that it will be automatically deleted. The special thing is that this feature will work even when read receipts (blue tick) are turned off.
This feature can prove to be very useful especially for those users who often share OTP, verification code or other personal information. With this, sensitive information will not be saved in the chat for a long time and privacy will remain better.

This feature is currently seen in Android beta version 2.26.12.2 of WhatsApp, but is not currently available for all users. The company is testing it now and it can be released for everyone in the coming time.
The ‘After Reading’ feature is considered to be an upgrade to the existing View Once feature of WhatsApp, in which photos, videos or voice notes can be viewed only once.
This new feature of WhatsApp can be a big step towards providing a more secure and private chatting experience to the users.
