The new king of expensive headphones? Sony’s The ColleXion will enter soon, giving tough competition to Apple

Sony may soon launch a new and special headphone in its premium audio segment, which has been named ‘Sony The ColleXion’. This device can be placed above the company’s famous 1000X series and is also considered to be the most expensive model in terms of price.

According to the leak, this new headphone will be more premium than the current flagship Sony WH-1000XM6. Its price is said to be around 629 Euros (approximately ₹ 68,500), which places it in the category of high-end audio devices. Interestingly, its price may be higher than Apple AirPods Max.

According to reports, ‘The ColleXion’ can be introduced as a limited edition product apart from the company’s regular lineup. It is possible that it is available in only one black color option and it has been designed keeping exclusive premium users in mind.

Advanced audio system will be available
Talking about the features, both wired and wireless connectivity can be found in it. For wired use, a gold-plated L-shaped stereo mini plug can be provided. In wireless mode, it is expected to support advanced audio codecs like SBC, AAC, LDAC and LC3, which will provide high-quality audio experience.

The report also says that Sony can also launch a new Sandstone color option for its Sony WH-1000XM6. However, its price is likely to remain around the existing variants.

Talking about the launch timeline, this new headphone can be introduced in Europe and other markets around May 19. However, no official confirmation has been made by the company yet.
