Gujarat Titans opener B. Sai Sudharsan was forced to retire hurt after being struck on the elbow in the third over of its chase against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 16.
Sudharsan was struck on the elbow by sharp delivery from Kartik Tyagi, and left the field after receiving treatment.
He attempted to complete a run after being struck, but fell to the ground in pain by the time he had reached the non-striker’s end.
Gujarat Titans was chasing 248 in order to secure a spot in the playoffs.
It is a blow for Gujarat Titans as Sudharsan is the leading run-scorer in IPL 2026 with 524 runs in 13 innings at an average of 43.66 and strike rate of 155.95.
