WhatsApp or Instagram, why do the apps go down suddenly? what to do if this happensZoom

Big glitch in WhatsApp Desktop, users said – chats are not opening

On the morning of May 20, WhatsApp web and desktop users faced a major technical problem. Users in many countries, including India, complained that WhatsApp Web was repeatedly crashing, while on opening the desktop app, they were being sent directly to the Facebook login page. This is not the first time this has happened and nor has it happened only with this app. So many times the question arises why this happens suddenly. Every day WhatsApp, Instagram or other apps go down. Sometimes apps do not load or show messages like login or error. Many times this problem occurs in the entire country or the world. So why does this happen?

1. Server down (most common reason)- Big companies like WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram run thousands of servers (big computers). When there is a technical problem with these servers, there is maintenance or there is a sudden increase in traffic, the app goes down. For example, during festivals, matches or big events, millions of people use the app simultaneously, due to which the server gets overloaded.

2. Your Internet Connection

If your mobile data or Wi-Fi is weak, the app may appear to stop suddenly. Many times the 4G/5G signal keeps coming and going, due to which the app does not work.

3. App cache and data accumulation

Running the app for a long time causes unnecessary files (cache) to accumulate in it. This causes the app to slow down or crash suddenly.4. old app version

If you haven’t updated the app for a long time, the older version may no longer work when new problems arise.

5. Device problem

Mobile storage being full, low RAM or battery saving mode can also bring down the app.

What to do when the app is down?

  • Check Internet connection (try both Wi-Fi and mobile data)
  • Force stop the app and reopen it
  • Clear Cache (Settings – Apps – WhatsApp – Storage – Clear Cache)
  • update the app
  • If the problem is in the entire country then wait for a while, mostly it gets fixed in 10-30 minutes.

Sudden downing of WhatsApp or any app is a common problem. In most cases, it is a server problem from the company’s side, which they fix quickly. But if it is happening again and again then definitely check your internet, cache and app updates. Nowadays our entire work depends on these apps, so it is very important to keep them correct.
