Actually, Facebook and Instagram, the social media platforms of the leading tech company Meta, have come to a standstill worldwide. Due to this sudden technical glitch on Friday evening, lakhs of users are facing a lot of trouble.

According to the famous website ‘Downdetector’ which tracks outages, there was a flood of complaints regarding Facebook and Instagram from around 7 pm on Friday evening Indian time. Thousands of people filed reports of the app not working. This problem is being seen not only in one country, but simultaneously in many countries of the world including India.

What problems are you facing?
Different users are facing many types of problems due to this outage. Most of the users complain that the app is opening, but new posts or reels are not loading. Some users have suddenly logged out of their account and are not able to login again. Along with Facebook and Instagram, sending and receiving messages on Facebook Messenger has also stopped.

Flood of complaints on ‘X’
As soon as Facebook and Instagram were shut down, troubled users turned to social media platform ‘X’ to know the truth. Within no time, hashtags like #FacebookDown and #InstagramDown started trending. People started sharing memes and asking each other whether everyone’s social media was really closed.

Meta has not yet given clarification
No official statement or clarification has yet come from ‘Meta’ regarding this huge error. The company has also not told why this problem occurred and when it will be rectified.

What should users do now?
Since this problem is not related to your phone or SIM card, but directly related to Meta, hence repeatedly restarting the app or turning the internet on and off will not help. At present, the only option for users is to wait for Meta to fix this technical glitch.
