Is your AC also troubling you in this scorching heat? Why is the room not cooling even though everything looks perfect? The truth is that common people do not know about some mistakes and technical faults, but the same things completely choke the cooling of the AC. If you understand the problems ranging from cleaning the filter to gas leakage and compressor, then you will be able to make your room Shimla again without spending unnecessary money.

The summer season has started and the temperature has crossed 41 in the entire North India including Delhi. There is some relief when it rains occasionally, but the humidity takes away life. In such a situation, it becomes necessary to run the AC. Air conditioners have also been started in those houses where they are installed. But a big problem is the lack of cooling. If your AC is also causing similar problems then you should know some important things.

Many times it seems that the AC has broken down and people turn the phone to the mechanic without thinking, which has a huge impact on the pocket. But wait, before calling a mechanic, you need to understand what are the things that are blocking the cool air from your AC, because sometimes the problem is very small which you can fix yourself.

The most common and first reason for less cooling of AC is the dirty air filter installed in the indoor unit. When the AC runs continuously, along with the room air, dust and dirt also start accumulating on its filter. Gradually this dust forms such a thick layer that the air flow stops completely. How will the room be cooled when cold air cannot come out? Therefore, it is very important that once every two weeks, you open the front panel of the AC, take out the filter and wash it thoroughly with clean water. A clean filter not only makes the cooling powerful but also keeps the air in your house clean.

If the filter is clean but the air is not coming cool, it may be directly related to the refrigerant (cooling gas). This gas flowing inside the AC absorbs the heat of the room and makes it cool. If there is a small cut or leakage anywhere in the pipeline, then the gas gradually starts decreasing due to which the cooling stops completely and due to increase in load on the compressor, the electricity bill also starts skyrocketing.

If this is also set, then it is important to pay attention to the outdoor unit installed outside the house. If the condenser coil of the outdoor unit is heavily dusted or is located in a closed area exposed to direct sunlight, it will not be able to expel the heat from the room. This problem can be avoided by cleaning the coil and keeping the air passage around it open.

Many times there is no problem with the AC, but still the cooling is less or does not happen at all. In such a situation, it is possible that the room is very big and a low capacity AC is installed there. A big room always requires one and a half or two ton AC so that it can cover the entire space. If you install 1 ton AC in a big room then the problem will persist. If the room is big then you can partition it during summer.

People also often make mistakes in thermostat or temperature settings. If you have set the temperature at 26 or 28 degrees Celsius from the remote, then you will never feel cold in the room even if it is too hot. For better and comfortable cooling, the temperature should always be set between 22 to 24 degrees Celsius, which is perfect for both health and electricity bills.

No matter how good we install AC, if the design of the room and our habits are not right then the effect of cooling will never be seen. If the doors or windows of the room are opening frequently or there are small gaps in them, then the hot air from outside will continuously come in and the cold air from inside will go out. In such a situation, the AC will keep running without stopping but the room will not cool down, hence it is very important to seal the gap of the windows.

Sometimes the problem is a bit serious which is directly related to the AC compressor. If the AC is running, air is also coming from the indoor unit but that air is exactly like a normal fan, then understand that the compressor has not started. When there is a technical fault in the compressor or fan motor, it stops producing cool air. Lack of voltage can also be a major reason behind this. If the electricity voltage in your area is very low, the compressor does not get full power to start and it trips. In this situation, you should check the main stabilizer of your house, so that the AC gets the correct voltage.

Whenever the AC reduces cooling, immediately check some basic things yourself such as whether the air filter is clean or not, whether the doors and windows of the room are locked properly or not, whether the temperature setting on the remote is in the correct mode or not, and whether there is any obstruction in front of the outdoor unit. You can see all this yourself in minutes. But if the problem is gas leaking, the compressor is not working at all, the coils are completely choked or there is a major fault in the wiring and voltage, then immediately call a professional technician so that your AC can be repaired as soon as possible without any major damage.
