Apple’s first iPhone Air has not completed even a year yet, but discussions have started regarding its next model. According to new leaked reports, the company is working on the second generation iPhone Air 2, which can be launched along with the standard iPhone 18 in Spring 2027.

The most important thing is that this time Apple can remove the two major shortcomings, which were complained the most by iPhone Air users earlier – camera and battery life.

Dual camera setup can be found in iPhone Air 2
The current iPhone Air has only one rear camera. Even though its design looks quite clean and premium, many users felt the lack of multiple camera option.

Now according to the reports, Apple can add ultrawide camera in the new iPhone Air 2. That means dual rear camera setup can be seen in the phone. With this, users will be able to easily take landscapes, group photos and wide angle shots, without the need to buy a Pro model.

Reports claim that Apple has already tested some prototypes with dual cameras. However, the overall design of the phone is expected to remain the same.

Battery life can also be better
This time Apple can also pay special attention to the battery. Due to the ultra-slim design, there is less space for a large battery pack, due to which some questions were raised about the battery of the first model.

According to leaks, either a bigger battery can be provided in iPhone Air 2 or the company will work on better power efficiency. For this, there is a possibility of getting a new A20 chipset in the phone, which can be made on the new manufacturing process. With this, battery backup and power management is expected to be better than before.

There will be no major changes in the design
If you liked the thin and light design of the current iPhone Air, then there is good news. Reports suggest that Apple will not make any major changes in the design. The company is focusing on improving the existing design and will try to remove the weaknesses of the first model.

The iPhone Air series is designed for people who want a lightweight and premium iPhone without spending as much as the Pro models.

When will it be launched?
According to reports, iPhone Air 2 will not be a part of Apple’s traditional September launch event this time. It is being said that the company may divide the iPhone launch into two phases.

In the first phase, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and Apple’s first foldable iPhone can be launched in late 2026. Whereas the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 can hit the market after about six months, i.e. in Spring 2027.

However, Apple has not yet officially confirmed these reports, so for now these information should be seen as leaks and speculations only.
