India squad for ODI series vs England: Virat Kohli included, Bumrah returns after two years


The Indian squad for the three-match ODI series against England was announced on Sunday by the BCCI.

Star batter Virat Kohli was included in the squad, but his participation is subject to fitness clearance. Meanwhile, pacer Gurnoor Brar has been included after his impressive performances in the Afghanistan ODIs, while Mohammad Siraj has been rested.

Jasprit Bumrah is also in line to play his first ODI since the World Cup final defeat against Australia in November 2023.

The BCCI also announced that Varun Chakaravarthy is in the final stages of his recovery from a foot injury sustained in IPL 2026, and will thus miss out on the Ireland T20Is.

India ​will play three ‌ODIs in England on July 14, 16 and 19 at Edgbaston, Sophia Gardens and Lord’s respectively.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, ‌who replaced Kohli against Afghanistan, was ​not included in the squad for the England tour despite ⁠scoring a century in the third ODI against the Afghans on Saturday.
