After getting dismissed cheaply in her first game (4 off 5 balls), Jemimah found her groove today with a match-winning innings, a performance which earned her the player of the match. The 25-year-old scored the winning runs with a reverse sweep to help Brave chase down Leeds’ target of 116.
For Leeds, all-rounder Deepti Sharma was the standout performer, making significant contributions with both bat and ball. In the first innings, Deepti played a handy cameo (23 off 15 balls) lower down the order, the second highest scire to propel her side to a competitive total.
With ball, Deepti took two wickets while giving away just 22 runs off 15 balls but her efforts went in vain as Leeds crashed to its first defeat of the season.
Deepti will next be seen in action on July 28 when Leeds takes on Manchester Super Giants while Jemimah will play her next game on July 27 when Brave takes on MI London
Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh will be in action tomorrow for Super Giants against Birmingham Phoenix at Old Trafford, Manchester
