15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi makes massive ICC rankings jump after Zimbabwe series

Indian teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi soared 230 places to No. 48 in the latest ICC men’s T20I batting rankings, released on Wednesday.

The 15-year-old amassed 151 runs at an average of 50.33, including two half-centuries, in the three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe to earn the Player of the Series award.

Ishan Kishan retained the No. 1 spot in the T20I batting rankings with a rating of 916, the third-highest in the format’s history.

In the ODI rankings, India captain Shubman Gill reclaimed the top spot from New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma remained third and fourth, respectively.

West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves, who claimed a historic five-wicket haul against Pakistan, climbed eight places to ninth in the Test all-rounders’ rankings. He also surged 21 places to 48th in the Test bowling rankings.
