Stephen Fleming set to be named England Test coach: Reports

New Zealand’s Stephen Fleming is set to be named as England men’s cricket team’s head coach, replacing countryman Brendon McCullum, according to reports in British media.

Fleming, who successfully served as Indian Premier League side Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) head coach for 16 seasons, stepped down from all three Super Kings’ head-coaching roles in India, South Africa and USA two weeks ago.

Fleming, 53, was among New Zealand’s most successful captains, having played in 111 Tests and 280 ODIs before his retirement in 2008.

While England will take on Pakistan in a three-Test series, starting next month, Fleming will likely begin his duties in the winter tour of South Africa.

McCullum, who will continue as England’s whitle ball coach, was removed as the head coach of the Test team after a string of poor results in the last 12 months.
