East Zone captain Ishan Kishan on Sunday scored a hundred during the side’s Duleep Trophy final against South Zone at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The Jharkhand batter reached the three-figure mark in 122 balls with the help of 12 fours and two sixes. His unbeaten 144-run partnership with Kumar Kushagra got East to 385 for four till stumps on day one.
This was the 10th First-Class century for the southpaw and only his second in the Duleep Trophy. He had struck 111 for India C two years back in Anantapur.
All his other tons have come for Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy, with the highest being 273 against Delhi in 2016. He had notched up 173 last season against Tamil Nadu, his second highest First-Class score.
He last played a Test for India in 2023 against West Indies. In three innings, he scored 73 runs, which included an unbeaten 52.
