India captain Harmanpreet Kaur became the first cricketer, men’s or women’s to captain in 150 T20I matches during her side’s clash against Pakistan at the Women’s Asia Cup on Saturday.
Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu is next on the list, who has captained Sri Lanka 121 times and counting, followed by Rwanda’s Marie Bimenyimana (101 matches).
In men’s cricket, Namibia’s Gerhard Erasmus leads the way with 91 matches, followed by Rwanda’s Cletus Rubagumya (90 matches), and Pakistan’s Babar Azam (85 matches).
In her tenure as captain, Harmanpreet has a win percentage of over 60%, having won 86 matches and lost 57. Her major achievements include leading India to three Asia Cups- in 2012, 2016, and 2022.
