Woman from Assam dies after being trapped in machine in Erode

A 39-year-old woman from Assam was killed after being trapped in a machine while at work in a private factory at Perundurai in Erode district on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Pushpa Mura, wife of Kalicharan Mura. The couple had been residing in Perundurai and working as labourers in the factory. According to the police, Pushpa Mura was engaged in her routine work when she was unexpectedly caught in a machine. She sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot. On receiving information, Perundurai police rushed to the scene, retrieved the body and sent it to the Government Erode Medical College Hospital, Perundurai, for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and further investigation is under way.
