The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths arrested the District Agriculture Officer of Wanaparthy district on Friday (December 19) while taking bribe from a complainant in return for extending an official favour related to the supply of fertiliser.

The accused officer, identified as Puppala Anjaneyulu Goud, was trapped by the Mahabubnagar Range unit of the ACB while accepting a part of the bribe amount. Investigation revealed that the officer had demanded a bribe of ₹20,000 on October 23, 2025, to ensure regular supply of fertiliser (urea) to the complainant without any interruption.

Investigators said that the officer had already accepted ₹3,000 on October 28, 2025, as part of the demanded amount, and was caught while receiving another ₹10,000 on Friday. The bribe amount was recovered from his possession.

Following his arrest, he was produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally in Hyderabad. The case is currently under investigation.

In a public advisory, the ACB reiterated that citizens facing demands for bribes from public servants can contact its toll-free number 1064 to report such incidents. The bureau assured that the identity of complainants would be kept confidential.
