Rohit Sharma marked his return to the Vijaya Hazare Trophy after seven years in style, scoring a 62-ball hundred for Mumbai against Sikkim in Jaipur on Wednesday.

With Mumbai chasing 237, Rohit opened the batting, walking out in front of a packed crowd at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

The 38-year-old took on the bowlers straight away, completing his century in 62 balls with eight fours and as many sixes.

It was second-ever century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and his fastest ton in Lisa A cricket, bettering his 63-ball ton against Afghanistan in the ODI World Cup 2023.

Rohit’s last Vijay Hazare Trophy appearance was in the 2018-19 season’s semifinal when he scored 17. His only other century in the tournament against Tamil Nadu in 2008, when he had scored 100 off 89 balls.
