Reshaping the future of work; Real-time geospatial intelligence

Gold may be forever, but it’s silver that’s stealing the spotlight this week.
The white metal rose 9% to hit a record high on Friday, bolstered by multiple factors, including a market deficit and rising industrial demand.
ICYMI: From futures to bullion, silver trading can take on a myriad of forms across the world.
Meanwhile, Zepto is set to join its rivals Eternal and Swiggy on the bourses soon, and it’s aiming big: A Rs 11,000 crore issue, targeted for sometime next year. The quick commerce giant has filed preliminary papers with markets regulator SEBI for its IPO using a confidential route.
In other news, robotaxi deployment is in the pipeline for every major tech giant, from Alphabet to Amazon. But a recent power outage, which stalled Waymo taxis in San Francisco, has raised an important question to the forefront: what happens when the situation calls for an SOS?
The incident has renewed calls for stricter regulation of the nascent but fast-growing industry, and raised concerns about the readiness of autonomous vehicle operators to tackle major emergencies like earthquakes and floods.
Beyond robotaxis, there’s a world of innovation lined up in the tech landscape. From foldable iPhones to humanoid robo-helpers and world models—here’s a snapshot of what the tech world has in store in the coming year.
In today’s newsletter, we will talk about:
- Reshaping the future of work
- Real-time geospatial intelligence
Here’s your trivia for today: What is the chemical element Azote now referred to as?

Reshaping the future of work
India is going through a practical revolution in how work is created and rewarded. Hiring decisions are increasingly shaped by what individuals can do, adapt and learn, rather than where they studied or how long they have worked.
This shift reflects the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), a surge of Global Capability Centres (GCCs) doing product-level and research-led work, and tighter regulatory and sustainability expectations. Together, these forces are changing not only the tools people use but also the nature of work itself.
Strategic skilling:
- AI has become a core engine of workplace productivity. Entry-level professionals should master AI literacy, practical prompt craft, and computational thinking, among other skills, while mid-career professionals should look to systems integration, and senior leaders must combine strategic choice with governance.
- As GCCs expand their India-based teams from execution to design, the onus is on people who can translate technical models into business outcomes. Just as important is the ability to safeguard data quality, lineage, and access, ensuring trust in the insights generated.
- People who can operate in low-emission factories, design responsible product life cycles, and manage supply-chain due diligence will be in strong demand. Sustainability is no longer confined to specialist teams, but embedded in everyday operational decisions.

Real-time geospatial intelligence
Most people don’t realise that hundreds of satellites are circling above us, constantly capturing images of the Earth. But for governments, intelligence agencies, and critical industries, this data can be the difference between prepared and unprepared. The challenge is not access to data, but making sense of it, and fast.
This is the gap Noida-based Suhora, a deeptech startup founded by Krishanu Acharya (CEO), is trying to fill. The startup builds geospatial intelligence systems that turn satellite images into real-time insights for defence agencies, disaster authorities, and energy companies, often within hours of an event.
Comprehensive insights:
- Suhora currently works with 300+ satellites, many of which it can task directly through its own system. The company follows a B2B and B2G model, with revenue coming from a mix of SaaS offerings, intelligence delivery, and custom deployments.
- Its government clients include the Indian National Coast Guard, Navy, and Air Force, several intelligence agencies under the MHA, and departments within the Haryana government. In B2B, the startup serves over 10 clients, including Saudi-based ACWA Power, Masdar in the UAE, and Hyderabad-based Niruthi.
- The bootstrapped company began with an initial investment of Rs 15 lakh from the founder’s own savings, achieving cash positivity from its first year of operations. It recorded around Rs 13 crore in revenue in FY24. Consistent growth led to Rs 40 crore revenue in FY25, according to the founder.
