Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, producers Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta and singer Sonu Nigam attended the launch of the song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ from Border 2 at Longewala-Tanot in Rajasthan. Bollywood Hungama attended the memorable event, which turned out to be a truly one-of-its-kind experience. Significantly, the song was launched at the historic site of the Battle of Longewala, the very battle on which the first part, Border (1997), was based. It added a powerful layer of emotion and nostalgia to the occasion.

He said, “Pehle aap sabko Namaskar. How are you all doing? Jab se maine Border (1997) ki hai, main aap ka parivaar ka hissa hi hoon! I did Border because when I saw my father’s (Dharmendra) film Haqeeqat (1964), I was wowed by it. I was quite young at that time. When I became an actor, I decided that I’ll also act in a war film like papa. I spoke with J P Dutta saab and we decided to make a film on Battle Of Longewala.”

He continued, “I had never imagined that our film would inspire our youth and they’ll join the armed forces after watching the film. So many soldiers have told me, ‘Aapki film dekhne ke baad tay kiya ki hum bhi fauj mein jaayenge’.”

He then mouthed the massy dialogue of Border 2. He began by saying, “Main abhi kuch keh nahin paunga kyunki mera dimaag thoda hila hua tha (smiles). But I’d like to say, awaaz kahan tak pahuchni chahiye?” The soldiers replied, “Lahore tak” excitedly and clapped.

Border 2 releases in cinemas on January 23.
