Actor Nandish Singh Sandhu needs no introduction, given the body of work he has built over the past decade. Known for his outstanding performances in projects like Super 30, and Jubilee, the actor will next be seen in Neeraj Pandey’s upcoming crime thriller series Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web, alongside Emraan Hashmi, Sharad Kelkar, Amruta Khanvilkar, Zoya Afroz, and Anurag Sinha.

EXCLUSIVE: Nandish Singh Sandhu calls Neeraj Pandey “complete director,” speaks on working with Emraan Hashmi in Taskaree: “He leaves stardom outside the set”Speaking about working with director Neeraj Pandey, best known for films like Baby, A Wednesday, Special OPS, and M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Nandish shared, “What stands out is his preparation and research. The clarity with which he puts everything on paper is remarkable. He thinks deeply about every character, regardless of screen time. He never treats a role as small just because it appears less on screen. Every character has an in-depth journey. Technically, he is extremely sound and balances the script and emotions equally. That makes him a complete, all-round director.”

When asked if Mr Pandey had narrated to him the role and shared details on how the character would be, Nandish revealed that everything was already laid out in the script. “He had written everything so clearly that there was no need for a separate explanation. Since Raghav (Jairath) is directing the series, most of my interactions were with him. Neeraj sir would be present during workshops and rehearsals, and if he felt something needed tuning, be it a line, emotion, or even voice modulation, he would step in with precise feedback. He was always overseeing the larger picture, from performances and emotional arcs to camera angles. His inputs were always sharp and to the point.”

How was his experience working with Emraan Hashmi? He shared, “It was a brilliant experience. Every project gives you a chance to work with different actors, and with Emraan, it was genuinely fun. One thing I’ve mentioned before as well is that he doesn’t carry the baggage of stardom on set, which is extremely important for any artist. He leaves all of that outside. When he’s on the floor, he is completely in character, and that makes the process easier for everyone involved.”
