Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri attended the launch of the song ‘Paan Ki Dukaan’ from their film O’Romeo at Mumbai’s Bandra Fort on Friday, February 6. Going by the theme of the song, various paan stalls were installed at the venue, adding to the fun not only for the attendees but also for the film’s actors. Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri dancing on ‘Paan Ki Dukaan’ was like icing on the cake.

A fan took the mic and commented that he loves Shahid Kapoor’s 2006 comic caper, Chup Chup Ke. Shahid joked, “In O’Romeo, I have done a serious performance. Toh waise filmon waala reference de!”

Going by a dialogue in the film, the fan then asked Shahid Kapoor, “Kya aapko kisi ne shendi lagayi hai?” The audience laughed at this question. Shahid Kapoor joked, “Jab promotions chal rahe hote hai na bro, toh roz shendi lagti hai! Roz plan change hota hai aur roz darr lagta hai. Samaj mein nahin aata hai ki tum log aane waalo ya nahin aane waale ho. Kuch samaj hi nahin aata hai aaj kal!”

He then added, “Maine shendi life mein lagayi hai aur lagi bhi hai. ‘Shendi’ is one of my favorite words. I follow ‘shendi’ with a word which I can’t utter out here!” He told the fan, “Lekin tu bol de! I have to be politically correct, but you don’t have that disadvantage.”

Chaos on the stage

A content creator expressed the desire to dance with Shahid on the title song of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024). Shahid insisted that he’d like to shake a leg with her on ‘Paan Ki Dukaan’ instead. She agreed, after which she came on stage. Shahid taught her the steps and then danced with her.

Later, a male fan also asked if he could come on stage and dance. Shahid probably realized that some more fans might also make the same request. Hence, he asked for 3-4 more fans to come so that he could dance with them together. However, many fans rushed to the stage, leaving the actors stunned. Triptii Dimri quickly went aside. Meanwhile, Shahid remained on stage and was amused by the onslaught. Soon, bouncers came and cleared the fans off the stage.
