In an intriguing behind-the-scenes revelation, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali played a pivotal role in shaping the musical soul of the much-awaited romantic drama Do Deewane Seher Mein, starring Mrunal Thakur and Siddhant Chaturvedi. Interestingly, the now-popular track ‘Do Deewane Shaher Mein’, which features prominently in the film’s teaser and trailer, was not originally intended to be part of the project.

However, Sanjay Leela Bhansali watched the film, recognized it as a gem of a story with strong appeal for the current generation, and decided to incorporate it. He gave full creative freedom to director Ravi Udyawar and guided him throughout the process. The makers felt that the original song was the best choice, and since the vocals were so pure, they retained the original track while slightly reprising it to suit today’s times. It is not a remix.”

The song reportedly entered the narrative after Bhansali viewed the completed cut of the film. Deeply moved by its emotional core and storytelling, he identified the potential of the romantic drama to strike a chord with younger audiences. By suggesting the inclusion of the iconic track, Bhansali aimed to enhance the film’s nostalgic and romantic tonality without compromising its authenticity.

What makes this creative decision noteworthy is that Bhansali not only backed the idea but also ensured that director Ravi Udyawar retained full creative freedom while integrating the song seamlessly into the narrative.

Presented by Zee Studios and Bhansali Productions, the film is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Prerna Singh, Umesh Kumar Bansal and Bharat Kumar Ranga in association with Ravi Udyawar Films. Slated for a theatrical release on February 20, 2026, around Valentine’s week, Do Deewane Seher Mein is already building anticipation among romance lovers.
