When was the last time Mumbai Indians won its opening match in IPL?


Mumbai Indians will take on Kolkata Knight Riders at its home ground, Wankhede Stadium, in Mumbai in the match two of the IPL 2026 on Sunday.

MI comes into the fixture with a 13 opening match losing streak.

The last time Mumbai won its first match of the IPL season was in 2012. The eight-wicket win came against Chennai Super Kings at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
