Bengaluru takes step towards safe traffic: Gives message of “Safety Reloaded” for safe roads

After a strong debut across multiple cities, the Suraksha Reloaded concert reached Bengaluru on 27 March 2026. The program carried forward the message of Road Safety Campaign, an initiative of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and NHAI under the leadership and guidance of Shri Nitin Gadkari Ji. The concert highlighted the importance of responsible behavior on the road through guidance from leaders and policy makers, creative presentations and meaningful discussions.

Actor, entrepreneur and racing team owner Akkineni Naga Chaitanya attended the event. He presented a sensible perspective and thoughts on driving on the stage. He said that even though he is fond of fast vehicles, driving on public roads is a responsible act. He told the youth that high speed should be enjoyed only on the racing track and not on the road. Every person on the road is responsible for his own safety and that of others. He described lane discipline as the most important part of road safety and said that high speed on the road does not create thrill but creates danger.

He also said that the speed limit is decided keeping safety in mind, because the conditions on the road can change at any time. Dangerous stunts shown in films are done under strict supervision, so they should not be repeated in real life.

After this, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and Srinivas Alvilly of WRI India discussed in the program. The Police Commissioner said that due to the pressure of rapidly increasing e-commerce delivery, many delivery riders use the footpath, causing danger to pedestrians. He said that strict action is being taken on this and a solution is being found in collaboration with the Transport Department.

He also expressed concern over the problem of driving by minors and said that strict action is being taken against parents in such cases. He also said that steps like making arrangements for the entry of vehicles inside schools are being taken, so that the traffic is reduced and the safety of children is increased.

Further, Nibas Alawal talked about the “Safety 75” initiative, in which work is being done to make 75 of the most dangerous intersections in Bengaluru safe. He said that along with awareness and rules, better road design is also necessary for road safety. He stressed that roads should not be made only for vehicles but for people to walk.

Entertaining presentations at the end of the program made the atmosphere more special. Indian band When Chai Met Toast performed music. Stand-up comedian Nitin Kamath created a light-hearted atmosphere, while the street play presented by Pratidhano Art Studio of Roshan Productions delivered a deep message. This drama explained the importance of road safety through everyday confusion, problems and situations that arise.

The Safety Reloaded event held in Bengaluru once again showed that safe roads are not created by rules alone, but by our responsibilities on the road and a change in mindset.
