Renault Duster Vs Honda Elevate: Renault Duster has been launched in the Indian market after a long wait. The company has currently introduced it with two engine options. In the coming days, around Diwali, it will also get a Hybrid engine. It is going to compete with many SUVs in the market. Honda Elevate is also a big name in this.

Talking about the price, the starting price of Renault Duster starts from ₹ 10.49 lakh and goes up to ₹ 18.69 lakh for the top variant. Whereas, Honda Elevate starts from ₹ 11.60 lakh and the top variant goes up to around ₹ 16.67 lakh. Duster is affordable in the base variant, but becomes expensive in the top spec. Let us try to find out which SUV among these two can be considered more powerful.

Design and interior

The design of Duster is muscular and off-roader style. Bold grille, LED lights, 212 mm ground clearance and strong road presence. It gives an adventurous look. The design of Elevate is sleek, premium and city-suitable. With smooth lines, attractive profile and 220 mm ground clearance, the Duster is better suited for rough terrain, while the Elevate is stylish for family use.

The interior of Duster is modern. It gets good space with dual screens (10.1-inch touchscreen + 10.25-inch driver display), panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, ambient lighting and large boot space (518 litres). At the same time, the cabin of Elevate has a premium feel. Apart from being spacious and comfortable, it gets good quality materials, sunroof and 458 liters of boot.

Features and safety

Both have connected car tech, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay and climate control. Duster gets Google integration, multi-color ambient lighting and more drive modes. The Elevate has strong features like Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance), ventilated seats and lane watch camera.

The Duster seems feature-packed, but the Elevate’s ADAS is more advanced. 6 airbags are standard in both. Front, side and rear parking sensors are available in Duster. The Elevate has achieved a 5-star rating in JNCAP and Honda Sensing ADAS provides better safety. Both are safe, but the crash safety of Elevate is proven. It is expected that Duster will also get full 5-stars in the crash test.

Engine and Mileage

As told earlier, the Duster has multiple engine options: 1.0L Turbo (100 PS, 160 Nm, MT), 1.3L Turbo (163 PS, 280 Nm, MT/DCT) and hybrid variants. It is powerful, especially the 1.3L has strong performance. Its ARAI mileage ranges from 17.75-18.45 kmpl. Only 1.5L NA petrol (121 PS, 145 Nm) engine will be available in Elevate, which can be purchased with MT or CVT. Its claimed mileage is around 16.92 kmpl. The Duster offers more power and better mileage, while the Elevate is easier to drive and quieter.
