Health tracking will become easier, Google’s new Fitbit Air may be launched soon
Google may soon launch its new fitness tracker Fitbit Air in India. This device is quite different from common smartwatches and fitness bands, because no screen is provided in it. The company has designed it for those people who want to keep an eye on their health and fitness without any notification or distraction.
Recently Fitbit Air has been seen on the website of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Usually any electronic device gets BIS certification before its launch in India. In such a situation, it is believed that this fitness tracker can hit the Indian market in the coming weeks.
Fitbit Air may look small and simple, but it has many advanced health tracking features. This device can continuously monitor heart rate, blood oxygen level (SpO2), resting heart rate, heart rate variability and sleep quality. Apart from this, it also supports features like sleep stage tracking and heart rhythm monitoring.
The special thing is that it can also alert users if there are signs of possible heart problems like atrial fibrillation (Afib). With this, users can be more cautious about their health than before.
Will work on both Android and iPhone
All the health data collected by Fitbit Air will be synced with the Google Health app. Users will be able to see detailed reports, health trends and personalized suggestions on their smartphones. This device will work with both Android and iPhone.
Battery life is also considered to be its biggest feature. Google claims that Fitbit Air can last for about a week on a single charge. Apart from this, the company has also introduced different types of band options, which include sports, fitness and premium lifestyle bands.
The price of Fitbit Air in America has been kept at $99.99. Its price in India has not been revealed yet, but it is expected that Google will launch it at a competitive price. If this happens, then this screenless fitness tracker can become a new and unique option in the Indian market.
