The Encryption Verification feature of WhatsApp can indicate whether a contact has blocked you or not. Know complete information about how this feature works without sending messages or making calls and what are its limitations.
Useful trick for WhatsApp users, new way to detect blocking
It is not always easy to know whether someone has blocked you on WhatsApp or not. Till now, most of the people used to guess on the basis of hints like missing profile photo, seeing only one tick on the message or not getting response to the call. But these methods do not always prove correct, because this can happen due to change in privacy settings or other reasons.
Now a new report has claimed that the encryption verification feature of WhatsApp can give a more reliable indication in this matter. The special thing is that for this you will not need to send a message or call the other person.
Actually, this feature was specifically created to check whether your chat is protected by end-to-end encryption (E2EE) or not. To use it, open any chat, then tap the contact’s name and select the Encryption option.
After this, WhatsApp will automatically try to verify the encryption status of that chat. According to the report, if the verification is completed easily, it means that the chat is working normally.
But if WhatsApp repeatedly fails the automatic verification and suggests you to verify in another way, it may be a sign that the other user has blocked you.

Detecting blocking is not official
However, this cannot be considered as definitive evidence of blocking. WhatsApp has not officially said that the encryption feature can be used to check blocks. Therefore, it should be seen only as a possible sign.
Another special thing about this feature is that the front user does not get any kind of notification. That means you can get an idea of the situation even without sending a message or making a call.
Let us tell you that WhatsApp had introduced the automatic encryption verification feature in the year 2023. Earlier, users had to compare the 60-digit security code or scan the QR code to check the security of the chat. The new system has made this entire process much easier.
