Message came from unknown number? WhatsApp will itself tell whether it is safe to start a chat or not?Zoom

WhatsApp is bringing a big security update, now you will get a warning message before getting trapped in a fraud message.

WhatsApp is constantly working on making its platform more secure than before. In the last few months, the company has introduced many new privacy and security features. Now according to reports, this messaging app owned by Meta is testing another new feature, the aim of which is to protect users from online frauds and scams.

According to the report of feature tracker WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will soon show a warning message that will appear when a user opens a chat from an unknown number. This means that if a message comes from a phone number that is not saved in your contact list, the app will show important information and security warning before opening the chat.

According to the report, on this warning screen it will also be told in which country the concerned phone number is registered. Apart from this, WhatsApp will also tell whether that number is saved in your contact list or not and whether you have any common group with that person. This will help users understand how trustworthy the other person can be.

WhatsApp will also show a warning message during this time, stating that scammers may try to defraud people by demanding personal information, passwords or money.

After this the user can continue the chat as per his wish or can close it. The special thing is that the person in front will not get information about your action.

Will work on both Android and iPhone
This feature is currently being tested among limited users on both Android and iPhone platforms. If the testing is successful then it can be released for all users in the upcoming updates.

Apart from this, WhatsApp is also working on many other new features. According to reports, the company is also testing features like new Voice Note Widget for home screen and View Once Text Message for iPhone users.

The purpose of these new updates is to provide a better experience to the users as well as to strengthen their security.
