The demand for SUVs is continuously skyrocketing in the Indian auto market. The recent sales report for June 2026 has once again proved that Indian customers are liking compact and mid-sized SUVs the most. Tata Motors has maintained its dominance in this month’s sales chart, while big companies like Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai have also registered their strong presence.

Tata Punch is at number one in the sales report. At the same time, demand for SUVs like Tata Nexon and Mahindra Scorpio N has increased. The top-10 SUVs of June 2026 have garnered a total of more than 1.20 lakh customers, in which Punch has made the biggest contribution. Let’s take a look at the model-wise sales report.

Tata Punch

Tata Punch topped the sales chart for June 2026. This micro SUV has recorded total sales of 21,006 units. The most important thing is that it has achieved an impressive 101% annual growth (YoY Growth) on an annual basis. Due to its strong safety rating, compact size and affordable price, Tata Punch remains the first choice among customers in both urban and rural areas. The company sells it at a starting ex-showroom price of only ₹ 5,69,990. Features like sunroof, 6 airbags and 360 degree camera are available in its top variant. Claimed mileage is around 20 KMPL in petrol and 27 KM/KG in CNG.

Tata Nexon

The second place is occupied by Tata Motors’ popular sub-compact SUV Tata Nexon. A total of 18,335 units have been sold in June 2026. Nexon has registered a spectacular growth of 58% compared to the same period last year. It is continuously attracting customers due to its modern features, petrol, diesel and electric (EV) options as well as strong build quality.

Mahindra Scorpio

Mahindra Scorpio is firmly at the third position in the Indian market with its strong identity. A total of 14,097 units of Scorpio (both Classic and N variants) were sold during June 2026. This powerful SUV has achieved a positive growth of 11% on an annual basis. Its strong performance, spacious cabin and excellent road presence are still loved by SUV lovers.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx

Maruti Suzuki Frontx has secured the fourth position due to its coupe-style design and excellent mileage. The company has succeeded in selling 13,135 units of Frontex in June 2026. This vehicle has registered a strong growth of 34% on an annual basis. Maruti’s excellent service network, premium interior and smart hybrid technology have increased its popularity rapidly.

Hyundai Venue

The name of Hyundai Venue is at number five in this list. A total of 10,776 units of this sub-compact SUV have been sold in June 2026. Venue has registered an impressive growth of 57% on year-on-year basis. Hyundai Venue remains a very popular and reliable choice among young customers due to its advanced connected car features, modern cabin design, multiple engine options and comfortable drive experience.

Apart from the top-5 cars of the segment mentioned above, last month 10,669 units of Mahindra Thar, 10,063 units of Mahindra XUV 3XO, 10,035 units of Maruti Suzuki Victoris, 9,939 units of Maruti Suzuki Brezza and 9,654 units of Kia Seltos were sold.
