According to the report, WhatsApp is now giving such a shortcut, with the help of which the Mic Mode can be changed during the call itself. Earlier for this one had to open Control Center of iPhone, but now this option will be available directly inside WhatsApp itself. At present this feature is being rolled out slowly, so it may take some time to reach all the users.
What will change?
According to the report of WABetaInfo, this feature has been seen in WhatsApp for iOS 26.27.74 beta version. When it comes to your phone, a new option of Mic Mode will appear in the More menu during the call. As soon as you tap on it, the iPhone’s microphone settings will open and you will be able to choose the mode of your choice without disconnecting the call.
The thing to note is that WhatsApp has not created any new microphone system. This is just a convenient way to quickly access Apple’s existing features. Once you select the Mic Mode, it will remain the same in the next WhatsApp call, unless you change it yourself.
What is Mic Mode?
Four types of Mic Modes are available in Apple iPhone.
Voice Isolation- If there is a lot of noise around you, then this mode focuses only on your voice. With this, the person in front can hear your words clearly.
Wide Spectrum – If you want the person in front to hear the surrounding sounds also, then this mode is useful. Like in a party, meeting or family gathering.
Standard- This is the normal microphone mode, in which no special changes are made.
Automatic- This feature that came with iOS 18 automatically decides which Mic Mode will be best at that time.
In which iPhones will it be available?
According to the report, to use Voice Isolation and Wide Spectrum, one must have iOS 15 or newer version. This feature will work in iPhone XR, iPhone XS and newer models. Whereas Automatic Mic Mode will be available only in iPhones with iOS 18 or newer versions.
Currently, this update of WhatsApp is not available to all users. The company is releasing it gradually. So if this feature is not visible in your iPhone right now, then you will have to wait for the upcoming update. The good thing is that now there will be no need to open Control Center again and again between calls and the entire setting can be easily changed within WhatsApp itself.
