Parul Gulati gets candid on Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, “No one expected such less screens”; also shares how she manages being an actress, entrepreneur and running a hostelP.O.W. – Bandi Yuddh Ke, lllegal – Justice Out of Order, Your Honor and Made in Heaven 2 are part of her filmography along with Punjabi films like Romeo Ranjha and Zorawar, the Telugu Jathaleka and her Hindi film debut, Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout, which was an OTT release.
The actress-entrepreneur (Parul is the CEO and founder of her hair extensions brand ‘Nish Hair’ and runs a hostel in Goa) had a chat with us about her life and career in a rapid-fire conversation.
You stated somewhere that you have done comedy for the first time in Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2. But you starred in the Punjabi comedy, Romeo Ranjha earlier.
Oh, but that was a small part with a couple of songs. My character did not have any comedy to do.
So how was the Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 experience, especially working with Kapil Sharma?
Definitely full of fun—Kapil is the Comedy King! He is an optimistic and child-like person and very inspirational in the way he talks and discusses work. In that aspect, he is serious and sensible and would give nice answers to all the many queries I put forward to him.
Do you feel bad that the film suffered in the Dhurandhar wave?
Well, I am very happy that a re-release is on the cards soon. We have put in so much hard work, but no one expected such less screens, and we were all left hoping that the film would do well when released on OTT later. But now, it’s coming back to theatres, which is great! After all, it’s a good and funny film in the Priyadarshan space of comedy.

You started out long ago, did a few serials and Punjabi films and then took a break and actually went to study acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.
No, no! I did not take any break. I also did not do the full Diploma course at RADA, but only their summer course.
You are already a multimillionaire as a business entrepreneur. How do you balance both fields? And if that is not enough, you have now entered the hospitality business with a hostel in Goa! What is the secret of your time-management?
(Laughs) I tell myself that I have to do justice to all of them no matter what! You got to do what you got to do. No one else will do it for you. I sometimes have to push myself, and I always remain focused. I do have a really good team and I guess I am managing everything fine! As for acting, I am constantly looking for work!
So will the next step be Hollywood?
Wow! Bahut badi baat keh di!
That’s bound to be on your agenda, right?
Aise thoda hota hai? Halwa hai kya? (Is it that simple?) I don’t even know if that is my dream or not!
I read an Instagram post about your mother’s advice about Gratitude and the benefits you got from following it.
Yes! Momma always tells me to be grateful! God does give you good things and removes the unnecessary people and elements from your life when you practice gratitude. Most people experience someone negative but since I am involved in three different areas, maybe that happens much more frequently with me. But I guess that is a part and parcel of my life as it is very public.
I also read that you got your first break because of Facebook. Explain!
I was in school in Standard Eleven when it happened. Someone messaged me on Facebook because they thought I looked like Yami Gautam (Dhar) and called me to Mumbai from my hometown Rohtak for an audition. The role was of her younger sister in Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam. In our social setup, girls are married off at the ‘right’ time and I did not want that! I wanted to make my own life, money and work, so when got a chance to get out of Rohtak, I grabbed it! I manifested this life!
But my audition wasn’t good. And yet something worked and they liked me. They spent a lot of time on me, with workshops and training, probably because they liked the honesty in my performance. And looking back, I am glad that I started early.
So what are your goals now?
I was wanting to do character-driven roles earlier, but the fact that I had no release at all in 2025 was a very big setback. I would now like to do whatever projects of various genres I get, and I hope to get bigger roles, bigger films and possibly even bigger comedies and roles that show me that I can do something that I don’t know I could do.
You don’t need to struggle the classic way because you have been so successful in business. So how do you approach work in the acting arena?
I have an agency that helps me know what is coming up. In this way, I can reach out to people directly and message them. I hope that I get to play performance-oriented roles now.
