RCB becomes first team to qualify for WPL 2026 Playoffs, records longest winning streak

Royal Challengers Bengaluru became the first team to seal passage through to the Playoffs of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 after a 61-run win over Gujarat Giants at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Monday.

Gautami Naik’s maiden WPL fifty guided the team to a formidable total of 178 for six, before the bowlers helped seal a fifth consecutive victory since the start of this year’s competition.

With the addition of a victory in its last match of the 2025 season, RCB now holds the record for the longest winning streak in the women’s T20 competition with six.

The Smriti Mandhana-led side, which won the second edition of the WPL in 2024, is in pole position to qualify directly to the final as the table topper. The side needs just one win in its last three games to cement its place in the summit clash.
