A new report has claimed that Face Unlock of many Android smartphones can be opened with just a photo. Phones of big brands like Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi and Motorola are said to be included in it. Know how safe Face Unlock is…

Is Fingerprint Lock more secure than Face Unlock? Know the whole truth
Nowadays most of the people use face unlock feature in their Android smartphones. This feature helps in unlocking the phone quickly and easily. But a new report has increased concerns about its safety. The report claims that many Android phones can be unlocked by just showing a photo.
According to the information, 133 different smartphone models were tested. These included phones from big brands like Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Oppo and Motorola. Names of expensive and premium phones like Samsung Galaxy S25, Oppo Find X9 Pro and Motorola Razr 50 have also been revealed in the report.
These phones are being scanned
The biggest reason for this is the 2D face scanning technology used in Android phones. Most Android phones recognize faces just by looking at the photo. That means if someone has your clear and good photo, he can try to unlock the phone.
Whereas Apple works on Face ID 3D scanning technology in iPhone. In this, not only the photo, but also the depth, shape and many other things of the face are scanned. For this reason, Face ID of iPhone is considered more secure and it cannot be easily opened with a photo.
Many experts believe that fingerprint sensor is a more secure option than face unlock in Android phones. Fingerprint is not easy to copy, hence it provides better security.
However, some new Android phones are now being provided with a better face scanning system, due to which the security has become stronger than before. Google is also working to make this feature more secure.
If you’re serious about your phone’s security, don’t rely solely on face unlock. Options like Fingerprint Lock, PIN and Password can prove to be more secure.
