From screen reaction to Gemini, there are many new surprises in Android 17, see if your phone will support it or not

Google has officially launched Android 17. The new operating system is being launched first with Pixel smartphones, while this update will also reach other Android devices in the coming months and 2026. Along with Android 17, Google has also introduced the new Pixel Drop and Wear OS 7, which include many AI based features, better security and smart multitasking tools.

The biggest focus of Android 17 is on AI and multitasking. In this update, Google has given a new feature called Bubbles, with the help of which apps will be able to run in floating windows. With this, users will be able to do chatting, browsing and other tasks simultaneously easily. Apart from this, the new Bubble Bar at the bottom of the screen will provide quick access to recently used floating apps.

Another special feature is Screen Reactions. With its help, users can record the phone screen and selfie camera simultaneously. This feature can prove to be very useful for content creators, online teachers and people making tutorials.

The experience of foldable phone and gaming will be better
A special gaming mode has been added for foldable smartphones in Android 17. In this, the screen can be divided into two parts, where the game will be visible on one side and the virtual controller on the other side. Apart from this, with the help of better memory management, lag will be reduced during gaming and performance will be better.

Special attention to security and privacy
Google has also made the security stronger than before in Android 17. Now users will get more control over location sharing. They will be able to temporarily share precise location and share information with selected contacts only.

With the help of the new Mark as Lost feature, a lost phone can be traced through biometric authentication. Apart from this, the live threat detection system will help keep users safe by identifying suspicious apps and online scams.

AI power in Pixel Drop and Wear OS 7
AI tools like Gemini Omni and Lyria 3 have been included in the Pixel Drop update that came with Android 17. With the help of Gemini Omni, users will be able to edit videos by giving text commands, while Lyria 3 will provide the facility of AI based music generation.

Wear OS 7 has brought many new features for smartwatch users. This includes real-time updates, smart device control and emergency safety features. Pixel Watch will now be able to send alerts to emergency contacts by detecting a fall, accident or serious health related condition.

This means that Android 17 is not just a common update, but is considered to be Google’s smartest Android experience till date, designed keeping AI and security in mind. In the coming time, this update can change the way millions of Android users use smartphones.
