Elevation Capital-backed AI stylist Alle shuts shop

In a post on LinkedIn on Monday, Alle Co-founder Prateek Agarwal said the decision to shut down the company had been taken in October last year. Alle is the first startup to announce a shutdown in 2026.
“Over the 2.5 years we spent building Alle, we pivoted six times, each time believing we were getting closer to a large enough opportunity. Eventually, we had to accept that the opportunity cost of everyone’s time outweighed another uncertain pivot,” said Agarwal in the post.
Started in 2023, Alle offered a conversational chatbot that acted as a personal ‘AI stylist’ allowing users to find new fits. It was started by former Meesho executives Prateek Agarwal, Harshit Madan, and Pavan Patil.
Patil joined Meesho as Director of Engineering in November last year, a month before the ecommerce company’s blockbuster public debut.
In December 2023, Alle raised $3 million in seed funding from Meesho-backer Elevation Capital, Bharat Founders Fund and The Singhal Children. Agarwal did not state if any capital was returned to the founders.
“We’re among the few teams in India to have shipped an AI-first consumer product used by a few millions,” said Agarwal. “Over time, I’m confident the dots will connect back to this experience.”
According to Alle’s website, the startup offered users to discover styling options from over 1,000 brands including Myntra, H7M, Newme, and Cider. The chat interface allowed users to get personalised recommendations based on sizing and preferences from previous purchases. Incidentally, Myntra’s AI also offers sizing and fit recommendations.
